Longhorn Steakhouse is opening a new Los Angeles location in Northridge, located at 19400 W. Plummer St.
The new 9,592 square-foot location, the only one in Los Angeles County, will replace Romano’s Macaroni Grill in the Northridge Fashion Center. A recent liquor license application suggests the new restaurant will open much later in the future, considering the existing restaurant will be torn down to make room for the new Longhorn Steakhouse. Rumors had swirled that this new restaurant would be a Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, but those rumors have since been confirmed by representatives as false.
If plans move forward accordingly, this will become the first Longhorn Steakhouse in Los Angeles County, with the next closest one being in Rancho Cucamonga. The company has over 500 locations across the country, but a very limited number in California. The new Los Angeles location will be a massive accomplishment for the restaurant, which first opened under founder George McKerrow, Jr. in Atlanta in 1981.
All Longhorn Steakhouses have Western/ Texan themed, with oil paintings, photos, and selected Western memorabilia. As for the menu, the restaurant focuses on various kinds of steak, including its Flo’s Filet. On top of that, Longhorn Steakhouse offers other American classics, as well as a full bar with draft and bottled beer, wine, and several signature margaritas.
CORRECTION: The previous article misstated the new restaurant would be a Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. The new restaurant will become a Longhorn Steakhouse.
While I’d rather have Macaroni Grill back, It’ll be nice to have another casual restaurant there.
I also would rather have Macaroni Grill back! Do we need another steakhouse near by? I don’t think so. Black Angus is near by and Claim Jumper is on the same property.
Sounds good! We look forward to trying it out!
