Loqui is coming to Woodland Hills, according to the taco joint’s website. The eatery recently applied for a liquor license at 20929 Ventura Blvd.

Owner Ari Ampudia first started the concept in 2013 as a pop-up at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco offering a rotating menu of Mexican street food. Eventually, the brand opened its first brick-and-mortar in 2016 in Culver City, followed by locations in DTLA’s Arts District and Free Market Playa Vista.

Loqui’s straightforward menu includes tacos with both corn and flour tortillas and fillings like Achiote chicken, mushroom, pork cochinita, Anaheim chile, beef birria, and spicy garlic shrimp. It also offers bowls served with cilantro-lime rice, pinto beans, guacamole, cotija cheese, pickled purple onion, cilantro, salsa, among other toppings. There are also chips and salsa, chips and guac, rice and beans, quesadillas, seasonal agua frescas, soda, wine, beer, and canned cocktails.

An opening date for Woodland Hills has not been announced, but their website says it’s “coming soon.”
