LOQUI, a local Mexican restaurant chain that is found in DTLA, Culver City, and Playa Vista, is getting ready to open a new location in Studio City at 12048 Ventura Blvd.
The company’s fifth location is set to move into the former home of Humble Bird Express and Hot Motha Clucker near the Laurel Promenade business center, according to a recent liquor license application. It’s unclear when this location will open, but the company is still working on a new location in Woodland Hills at 20929 Ventura Boulevard, Suite 44. Hopefully, by the end of the year, both locations will open, offering a casual restaurant created by friends inspired by Mexican flavor heritage.
When the new LOQUI opens later this year, customers can expect the same menu at all three other locations, featuring many tacos, bowls, sides, beer, cocktails, and wine. Some of the most popular items on the menu include the achiote chicken taco, spicy garlic shrimp taco, and the achiote chicken bow. This will be an excellent location for the company’s newest location, considering dozens of retailers and eateries nearby, creating a ton of foot traffic for the business.
“In 2013, we began bringing transportive tastes of Baja, the Yucatan, and beyond to our weekly pop-up at Tartine in San Francisco,” according to the company’s website. “We then spent three years preparing to officially share LOQUI, putting down roots in Culver City in 2016 with our first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Our menu is filled with traditional ingredients and deep flavor. May it remind you of all the experiences in Mexico you’ve enjoyed and, more importantly, those you still haven’t.”
