Lucy’s & Pop’s Pizza, a new pizza-focused restaurant concept, is getting ready to open in Torrance at 22252 Palos Verdes Boulevard.
The company’s new location is set to move into the former home of Texas Loosey’s, according to a recent liquor license application. While an exact opening date has not been announced, customers can expect a casual dining experience focused on pizza, approachable menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere. The project is led by longtime South Bay hospitality veterans Brian Eldridge and Patrick Mescall.
South Bay Hospitality Group, founded by Eldridge and Mescall in 2017, operates several restaurants and bars in the area, including Paddy O’Brien’s Irish Pub, The Sly Fox Irish Pub, The Bounty Room, Eat at Joe’s, The Hula Hula Room, The Sportsman Bar, and Tiki Kai, with select projects in partnership with Dennis Doody. Mescall also co-owns Torrance Tavern with John Shapiro, which is separate from the group.
The duo has built a reputation for revitalizing existing spaces and creating neighborhood-focused concepts that combine quality food with community engagement. Lucy’s & Pop’s Pizza represents the latest expansion of their portfolio and continues the team’s strategy of delivering casual dining destinations that are approachable and locally connected.
The restaurant is expected to offer classic and specialty pizzas, along with complementary items suitable for group dining or takeout. While details of the full menu have not yet been released, the team’s past projects suggest a focus on quality ingredients, traditional recipes, and thoughtful preparation.
