A new coffee shop is coming to the Silver Lake neighborhood. A recent Silver Lake council meeting addressed the new cafe setting up shop at 2894 W Rowena Avenue.

Makisupa will move into the first floor of a two-story commercial building that spans 7,275 square feet and houses a mix of retail and office space. The coffee shop will occupy a 920-square-foot unit fronting Rowena Avenue. Despite its intimate quarters, Makisupa will have a total seating occupancy of 40, with 28 seats in an enclosed atrium area.

Silver Lake residents and workers at nearby businesses will soon be able to enjoy coffee and a light, healthy meal for breakfast or lunch, or indulge in a nightcap with neighbors and coworkers after a full day’s work. Makisupa will offer classic espresso-based coffees, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of beers, beer-based cocktails and seltzers. Because the space cannot accommodate a full-kitchen, the food will either be assembled on-site or prepared at an off-site kitchen.

The cafe will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Although a potential date for its debut has yet to be announced, we will provide updates as we learn more about what Makisupa has in store for Silver Lake locals.
