It looks like Marvito, a pop-up by Beverly Grove’s Marvin wine bar, is getting a permanent home. The new concept applied for a liquor license at the site of the former Garden of Taxco location.
On its Instagram, the restaurant is described the as an “all day dive bar meets psychedelic honky tonk.” And on Tock, an old page for the pop-up describes it as, “Our take on our favorite beachy burger stands & taco shops in Southern California.”
Marvito is co-owned by Max Marder and Ricky Moreno. The pair, along with famed restauranteur and Max’s father, Bruce Marder, started Marvin 10 years ago. The French bistro has an extensive wine list and offers small plates and appetizers like oysters, burrata, white anchovy toast, octopus salad and steak tartar, as well as pastas and entrees.
An opening date has not been announced yet for the new restaurant.
