Upscale brunch, lunch, and dinner destination Marlou is expanding to a new location in Koreatown, located at 3630 Wilshire Blvd.

The new location will move into the second-story space above MDK noodles (Myung Dong Kyoja), in five to six months, according to owner Louis Huh. He took over ownership of the DTLA location along with Marcos Spaziani and Peter Kim of Caffe Concerto. The trio of owners will take over as owners and head chefs of the upscale eatery and will open a second location by Fall 2022. Customers can expect an upscale, modern sit-down restaurant with high-class meals such as gnocchi with bone marrow.

Marlou’s first location is in Downtown Los Angeles, located at 819 S Flower St. Huh and Spaziani joined Marlou last year as chefs and are now taking it a step further by becoming the restaurant’s new owners, along with Kim as a partner. This is the second restaurant Huh and Spaziani are taking over, recently becoming the new owners of The Burrow. They are adding fan-favorite comfort food to The Burrow’s menu, while it’s unclear if they will make any changes to Marlou as owners.

This is a massive opportunity for Huh and Spaziani, who have worked together as founders of ML Eats. The duo will expand the American breakfast and brunch spot to the heart of Koreatown, which doesn’t have much other competition in terms of American eateries. In an area surrounded by delicious Asian restaurants, the new Marlou will have to compete with the new Here’s Looking At You and The Venue. Customers can expect a classy environment filled with extraordinary menu items.

CORRECTION: The article previously misstated the restaurant is changing ownership when Marlou has been owned by Huh and Spaziani already.
