Yet another family-owned pizza shop is finding its footing where others haven’t been able to. According to a lease obtained by What Now Los Angeles (WNLA), Double or Nothing Pizza will take Papa John’s Montello’s 1,375 square-foot space on Whittier.
The 2400 W Whittier Blvd address, until recently, housed the popular pizza chain and Google states that the restaurant is still operating at that location, despite a disconnected phone and a Yelp page that lists the location as closed. Papa John’s first moved into the location in 2017, but the unit has been listed on the market for the last 18 months. While the space has been used as a pizza joint, there will be a partial build-out to accommodate the future tenant. Double or Nothing Pizza has two locations currently opened on 1145 W 4th St. in Ontario and 4726 Riverside Dr. in Chino, where they’ve operated for four years this month.
Unlike Papa John’s international franchise, Double or Nothing Pizza is a smaller operation run by the Cabral family, with Eladio Cabral running the show. The family-owned pizza joint is looking to open up its third shop sometime in December.
