Local Mexican restaurant concept Mr Menudo Oficial has a new location heading to West Covina at 327 N. Azusa Ave., according to an ABC filing. Owner Roger Perez told What Now Los Angeles that they are waiting on inspections and are hoping to open by April.
The space will feature a full-service, modern, elevated take on the brand, offering more seating and a space for private events.
The menu features tacos, nachos, birria, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, guajolotongo, chilaquiles, tamales and more. They are also planning to add a casserole pancake dish.
“We want to bring good quality Mexican food to the community — quality meats, quality cuts, quality everything,” Perez said.
With the expansion to West Covina, Mr Menudo Oficial will have four locations, with existing spots in Downey, Bellflower and Compton. They are hoping the West Covina location will give their Inland Empire customers a closer location.
Perez hopes to continue to expand the brand, eyeing a spot in Montebello for a 24-hour location and another spot in Anaheim.
“Hopefully everyone comes to support the business here in West Covina,” Perez said. “The goal is to provide quality food and quality service at a unique price and have customers for a very, very long time. We want to be the best Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles County with full service. We are more than just food — we’re an experience now.”
