Royalty is headed to West Hollywood. Restaurateur Jorge Cueva, also known as Mr. Tempo, is in the midst of expanding his party kingdom with projects planned for Oxnard, Rancho Cucamonga, San Diego Otay Ranch, Las Vegas, New York, Miami Las Paz, New York, Tijuana, and Guadalajara.
Up next on the queue, however, is King and Queen Cantina in West Hollywood. With cantinas in Santa Monica, San Diego, and Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California, this newest destination will keep the party going. Cueva has devoted his career to ensuring guests have outrageous fun at King and Queen Cantina, which is always booming with music and bustling with chefs slicing tender tomahawks and bartenders preparing inventive craft cocktails at your table– with a kitchen blow torch always at the ready.
King and Queen Cantina’s menu spans the entire taste spectrum with a focus on Mexican cuisine and Asian, French, and Italian influences. The Pinches Tacos include Birria Tacos (corn tortillas, melted cheese, guajillo-braised short rib, onion, and cilantro with a side of haberno sauce and consome), Korean Tacos (roasted pork belly with chile-soy sauce, serrano sauce, topped with red cabbage, chopped mango, and lime crema), and Surf & Turf Tacos (crispy melted cheese flour tortilla, shrimp and steak, topped with serrano sauce, chipotle sauce, lime crema, pico, cilantro, and red raddish). Other exciting plates include Tinga Taquitos, Grilled Octopus, and Japamex Sushi like the Ensenada Lemon Roll and the Hot Cheetos Roll.
Matching the vibrancy of its food, the drink menu is stacked with colorful specialty cocktails and Tajin-rimmed margaritas that you’ll want to take photos of before downing and asking for another.
King and Queen Cantina will settle into 616 N Robertson Boulevard, just down the street from the West Hollywood Park, with plans to open its doors in a month.
