Partake Collective, a new upscale ghost kitchen and food hall hybrid, will be adding two new locations, with the first coming to Long Beach, located at 456 Elm Ave.

This new 25,000 square-foot location is expected to open in April 2022, according to a representative from the company. It will have nine individual commercial kitchens between 370 and 750 square feet, ten prep kitchens between 200 and 470 square feet, a 700 square-feet test kitchen, and a 1,207 square-foot communal kitchen. Common areas include a lobby, mess hall, retail shopping, and contactless order pick-up lockers. The food hall will be open to the public from 11 am to 10 pm daily.

The concept provides a comprehensive support system to small, local, crafted businesses in need of additional kitchen space. Rather than focus strictly on food preparation for delivery-only meals in an isolated industrial setting, the project is built on a model that promotes social engagement and community building. Partake Collective will offer customers the option to support local businesses while dining onsite in a communal food hall or a future sidewalk dining area.

Partake Collective aims to make the Long Beach location their model to create a benchmark for future developments. If all goes well, the company plans to add another 17,000 square-foot location in Glassell Park in 2023. It’s unknown at this point which tenants will be joining in on this new concept. CEO Adam Carrillo has partnered with local schools to support students’ accessibility and opportunities to expand their passion within the culinary arts. These schools include Browning High School and Long Beach City College’s Culinary Program.

“Partake is committed to being an active and engaged member of the Long Beach community,” according to the company’s fact sheet. “Partake is already working with local educational institutions to support pathways to entrepreneurship, business ownership, and job opportunities to the most underrepresented communities within the city of Long Beach.”
