A brand new restaurant called Lucia is getting ready to debut with a star-studded team behind it, opening on Fairfax Avenue.
The new restaurant is the latest from owner Sam Jordan, who previously worked at Olivetta and Issima, according to Eater Los Angeles. Lucia is set to open in Spring 2025, offering Caribbean diasporic flavors. Jordan has asked Jamaican-Canadian chef and Top Chef Canada semi-finalist Adrian Forte from Toronto to create a modern Afro-Caribbean menu. Preen Inc. has been tapped as the restaurant’s designer and architect.
Jordan is a native of the Bay Area who eventually relocated to Los Angeles, where he opened Issima, a European-style restaurant, and Olivetta, a Mediterranean eatery. He then transitioned into the tourism industry, founding EnviTours, a luxury eco-conscious tour company that offers services in destinations worldwide, including Bali, Puerto Rico, and Belize. Now, he is returning to the restaurant industry.
To assist him with this task, he will rely heavily on Forte’s vision. The Jamaican-Canadian celebrity chef is a semi-finalist in Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Canada, has served as a judge on Chef in Your Ear, and was a contestant on Chopped Canada. He also appeared as the culinary expert on Caribbean cuisine in Netflix’s Restaurants on The Edge. Additionally, Forte has worked as a private chef for celebrities like Alicia Keys and Drake and is the author of the Yawd cookbook. Together, Forte and Jordan will create a unique culinary experience in Los Angeles.
