A new yet-to-be-named food hall and bar is coming to Pico Boulevard, replacing Sniper Alignment & Auto Service at 5510 W. Pico.
The new concept will operate as a food hall with three cuisine counters, an ice cream shop, and a small bar, all under a single operator, according to documents submitted to the Los Angeles Planning Department. The space includes a 3,339-square-foot indoor area and a 2,173-square-foot outdoor patio with 122 seats. Informal recreational features like ping-pong and table games are planned, but there will be no arcade machines or live entertainment. Hours of operation are scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. daily, with 12 indoor seats.
The project is being led by Robert Vinokur, founder and CEO of The Playhouse Group, a Los Angeles-based hospitality company known for concepts like Linden & Dot, Mad Lab Coffee Roasters, Joe’s Pizza, and Chopped Cheese on the West Coast. With over 20 years of experience in entertainment and hospitality, Vinokur is bringing a multi-concept venue to Mid-City.
At a public hearing in March, the project received support from nearby residents and stakeholders who praised its potential to activate the neighborhood with more walkable dining and social options. One concern about outdoor noise was addressed through proposed mitigation measures, including a tall rear building to buffer sound, added greenery, umbrellas, and a retractable canopy.
The development qualifies for the city’s Restaurant Beverage Program and benefits from temporary local regulations that waive parking requirements for use changes. Final alcohol license approval is pending from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
