A brand new Italian restaurant called Stella is making its way to West Hollywood West, located at 8899 Beverly Blvd.

The new restaurant will move into the former home of Madeo towards the end of the year, according to Eater LA. The space has been vacant since last year when the Vietina family decided not to reopen Madeo following a temporary relocation after the building was remodeled. Now, Canadian restauranteur Janet Zuccarini, owner of Felix in Venice and Gusto Green in Downtown, is partnering with Rob Gentile, considered one of Toronto’s best chefs, to bring regional coastal Italian flavors in a two-story build-out.

Zuccarini is bringing a familiar face with her for this brand new restaurant. Wendy Haworth, who was in charge of Felix’s overall design, will once again take the lead in overseeing the build-out. Haworth has completed several projects for Zuccarini’s Gusto 54 Restaurant Group, such as Gusto 501. Other restaurants she’s designed include Gratus, Gracias Madres, and almost all Cafe Gratitudes. When the restaurant opens, it will have more than 200 seats for guests and space for an outdoor terrace.

There’s no word about what will become of the 36-year-old Madeo, which temporarily popped up last year in Saudi Arabia. Gianni and Nicola Vietina continue to operate their bakery/ restaurant called Bianca in Culver City. In the meantime, the new Stella restaurant will have some big shoes to fill, especially considering Madeo has become a go-to for many celebrities, including Drake, who mentioned the restaurant in his song “Diplomatic Immunity.”
