Miya — an eatery that quietly opened at 2470 Lake Ave, Altadena, CA 91001 on January 9 — is currently expanding its restaurant platform to include in-house and outside dining options.
Miya has replaced Park Bench Grill on the Verdugo Mountain-adjacent stretch of LA restaurants and retail.
Currently, the Thai joint helmed by David Tewasart offers take-out only with its menu posted on the front door. Soon, Miya will include a dining room, back patio, and sidewalk seating.
Additionally, the restaurant will be serving beer and wine once its license comes through, according to Eater LA.
Unlike Tewasart’s Sticky Rice which serves up Thai street food, Miya — named after Tewasart’s daughter — serves homestyle cooking.
“The menu includes a spicy and aromatic tom yum soup with shrimp,” explains Eater, “a sweet and savory basil eggplant stir-fry, and pad thai topped with dried shrimp and pork cracklings.”
