Carniceria Mi Pueblito, a Mexican meat market, seems to be taking over the Fremont Square Family Dentistry space on 712 N Ventura in Oxnard. Jose Gustavo Onofre signed a lease and both Onofre and the real estate representing the property said that the move-in won’t be happening for quite some time.

Translating the meat market owner’s words, Onofre’s niece Brenda told What Now Los Angeles (WNLA) that they are offering “a little bit of everything” at Carniceria Mi Pueblito, while the main focus is meat. The Fremont Square Family Dentistry space has to be fully gutted and converted in order to accommodate the marketplace and butcher shop function of Carniceria Mi Pueblito. According to Onofre, the work is mainly the interior and getting everything “all set up.” They need to add meat cases, storage, and refrigeration.

Based on how everything goes, they want to open up more in the future. However, this is Onofre’s first-ever storefront.
