Ono Hawaiian BBQ, a family-owned fast-casual chain known for its Hawaiian-style plate lunches, plans to open a new location at Cerritos Towne Center, located at 12731 Towne Center Drive.
Previously, What Now San Diego reported on Ono Hawaiian BBQ’s growing presence in Southern California, including several new sites in San Diego County, including a new location in Clairemont. Now, the company appears to be expanding further across the Southern California region with its upcoming Cerritos restaurant. While the exact unit within the Towne Center has not been confirmed, the restaurant is expected to join a wide range of food and retail offerings at the popular outdoor shopping destination.
The Cerritos Towne Center has seen some changes recently, according to the shopping center’s website. Tokyo Central, a Japanese supermarket concept owned by the same parent company as Marukai, is preparing to move into the former Pacific Sales appliance store. At the same time, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, one of the center’s original tenants since its 1992 debut, closed its doors just days ago after more than three decades in business.
When the new Ono Hawaiian BBQ opens, customers can expect a menu of island-inspired dishes, including Chicken Katsu, BBQ Beef, Spam Musubi, and Kalua Pork, all served with steamed rice, macaroni salad, and vegetables. The restaurant also offers Aloha Plates, family combos, and Keiki Meals, made fresh to order and served in a casual, family-friendly setting. The addition of Ono Hawaiian BBQ is likely to complement the evolving dining mix at Cerritos Towne Center, which remains one of southeast LA County’s busiest retail destinations.
