Osteria La Buca Expanding Into Westlake Village With Third Location

Italian restaurant Osteria La Buca is planning to add a third location, joining existing restaurants on Melrose Avenue and in Sherman Oaks. The forthcoming location will open at 30760 Russell Ranch Road, Suite D, in Westlake Village. Co-owner Stephen Sakulsky told What Now Los Angeles that they hope to open in about two to three months.

“[The location choice] matches with our core values of where there’s need,” Sakulsky said. “We try to get in first to neighborhoods that are on the rise. Our Melrose location was out in no man’s land and now it’s the hip spot. Our Sherman Oaks location was kind of the first out to the Valley, and a lot of L.A. restaurants followed. Now we’re looking to do the same in Westlake Village.”

Sakulsky is especially excited for the Westlake Village location because he lives in the area, and he is excited to share the Osteria La Buca concept with his local community.

The design and menu will reflect the existing locations, with a space at a little more than 3,000 square feet. They have partnered with Ravenhill Studio for the design of the space, focusing on a simple design with plenty of wood.

The Osteria La Buca menu features pasta dishes such as rigatoni bolognese and bucatini carbonara, as well as pizza options, sandwiches, chicken parmesan, seafood and some additional protein-driven dishes. Sakulsky said the Westlake Village menu might offer a few dishes unique to the location.

Moving forward, Sakulsky and the team hope to continue to expand to neighborhoods where they feel Osteria La Buca can grow with the area.

“We’re a small owner-operated group,” Sakulsky said. “We have no outside investment, so we do all this on hard work and good business fundamentals. We just want to expand to neighborhoods that are strategic and where we see we can thrive.”
