A brand new brewery called Ostray Brewing is looking to debut in Atwater Village, located at 4208 E. Chevy Chase Dr.

The new microbrewery will move into the former home of Glendale Iron, a structural steel and ironworks company started by Carlos Ostray in 1964. The business has since been passed down in the family and appears to be closing after nearly six decades. Although Glendale Iron is on its way out, Chris Ostray will remain and convert the 3,998 square-foot space into a namesake brewery. Ostray Brewery will feature a kitchen, an outdoor patio, and a proposed covered patio, the latter having a stage.

As new breweries pop up left and right throughout Los Angeles County, Ostray Brewing hopes to become Atwater Village’s primary gastropub. Just outside the neighborhood, the brewery will have to compete with Frogtown Brewery, Eagle Rock Brewery, Paperback Brewing, and Solarc Brewing. The new business will have plenty of space to welcome new customers, with a total occupancy load of 306 people.

Additional information regarding the new brewery is limited at the time, as Chris recently submitted documents to the Los Angeles City Planning Department. This being a microbrewery, it’s likely the new business will brew and serve a limited supply of its own beer. Considering plans still need to be approved, beer enthusiasts probably won’t see this brewery open until late 2022, possibly sometime in 2023.
