Arden Restaurant — a new moody concept by the owners of Paris Tokyo by AZAI Sushi — will soon open at 8289 Santa Monica Boulevard in the former Conservatory space in WeHo.
The eating house will join its recently opened sister store, Arden Cafe — a sunny little garden slice located at the former Irv’s Burgers — on the corner of N. Sweetzer Avenue, just across the street from Hamburger Mary’s and Joey’s Restaurant.
While the Arden Restaurant Instagram boasts a September opening, Co-proprietor Jordane Andrieu tells What Now Los Angeles there is “no date yet” regarding its debut. And though little is known about Arden Restaurant’s offerings, its ‘gram depicts an aesthetic seemingly focused on Parisian hedonism and pastoral fantasy.
In the brand’s most recent post, a quote pulled from Shakespeare’s 1599 play As You Like It describes the concept’s moniker and approach: “Within the Forest of Arden, they enjoy the opportunity to do whatever they want whenever they want.” Though likely dissimilar in appearance, it seems Arden may take a page out of the Paris Tokyo book of extravagance.
Paris Tokyo by AZAI Sushi is an over-the-top sushi sky lounge dripping in gaudy, moonlit garden vibes. Located in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills, the upscale joint specializes in sushi boats, Omakase, cut rolls, sashimi, and nigiri with a simplistic Japanese recipe.
Owned by Andrieu, Sarah Cuni, and Roman Rey-Chavent, Paris Tokyo has become a go-to lounge experience for celebrities and socialites alike, and it’s likely that Arden will become the same, on, perhaps, a more ethereal and antique level.
