Peru Kitchens, a San Jose-based concept that houses multiple brands under one roof, is preparing to open a new location in Culver City at 3850 Main Street, Site B.

The company’s newest location is set to replace Janga by Derrick’s Jamaican Cuisine, according to a recent liquor license application. Peru Kitchens will open next to Piccalilli near The Culver Steps. Co-owner Alonso Franco tells What Now Los Angeles that he hopes to open this location between April and June 2025, depending on the permitting process. Peru Kitchen previously lived in San Jose at 949 Ruff Drive, which has since been replaced with a new ghost kitchen called Ruff Food Pick-Up.

When Peru Kitchen opens later this year, customers can expect a handful of brands under one roof. The company’s website shows six concepts: Peruvian Wok, Burritos and Sauce, Quinoa Greens, Peruvian Poke, Chicken Sandwich & Co., and Cevichito. While most of these locations are self-explanatory, they feature a Peruvian twist. Ignacio Barrios Jacobs, who previously opened Urban Kitchen and a handful of restaurants in Peru, is also behind the concept as the company’s co-founder and culinary director.

When it opens, those who want to enjoy this concept are encouraged to subscribe to the company’s delivery service and get $30 in coupons to enjoy authentic and healthy Peruvian fusion flavors. It’s likely Peru Kitchens will serve various parts of Los Angeles, considering that the restaurant provides service to San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Campbell, and Mountain View in Northern California. It won’t be long before Culver City residents and visitors can order lomo salads, burritos, poke bowls, sandwiches, salads, and ceviches under one roof or have them delivered.
