Italian restaurant Piccolo Ristoranti is expanding to a third location in South Pasadena, located at 1010 Mission St.
The reimagined old Westside favorite by chef Antonio Muré and owner Tony Black is moving into the former home of Crossings sometime in early March 2022, according to Eater LA. Black tells the publication that “while the space seems mostly done from the outside, the restaurant still needs several weeks to get up and running.” Nonetheless, when the restaurant does open, customers can expect plenty of fine wine, homemade pasta, and delicious specialties.
The duo first opened the trendy, upscale restaurant in Santa Monica in 2004 before expanding to Venice. Both restaurants take pride in creating new homemade pasta items using fresh ingredients. Piccolo Venice specifically serves a signature dish, potato and fig tortellini on a parmesan fondue. Both locations will have a variety of homemade pasta, seafood starters, and chops. No matter what delicious dish is ordered, a glass of wine from their wide selection of vintage wines is necessary.
A third Piccolo will be no problem for Black and Mure, who also co-own high-end Italian spot Barrique in Venice. Before that and Piccolo, Mure was in charge of Michelin-rated Italian spot La Botte in Santa Monica. This third Piccolos is a huge accomplishment for the duo, considering they permanently closed the Venice location in 2015 before reviving it last year.
P.S. Crossings (not Crossroads) was great. Glad the space will be put to use again,
