Shrimp vs Chef, the popular food truck often seen around Newbury Park, is working on its first brick-and-mortar location, reports the Conejo Valley Guide. The storefront will be located inside Northstar Plaza in Thousand Oaks, at the former Barone’s Pizza site.

Shrimp vs Chef was established in 2015 by chef Tempel Sewell. The concept has been featured on the Cooking Channel’s Food Truck Nation.

“From the shrimptruck’s custom kitchen come menus inspired by places I’ve lived and traveled, with shrimp being the focus. I take pride in the quality of produce I purchase, the original menus I create, the people and businesses I partner with, and most importantly, my customers,” Sewell writes on Shrimp vs Chef’s website.

Menu items include baja shrimp tacos, garlic noodles, shrimp and pork al pastor burrito, Shrimptruck caesar burrito, jambalaya, shrimp poboy, shrimp katsu, crab cake sandwich, and more.

An opening date for Shrimp vs. Chef is currently unknown. Sewell could not be immediately reached for comment.
