The Los Angeles-based pizzeria Prime Pizza is opening a new site in El Segundo, located at 150 S. Pacific Coast Hwy. Unit A.

The company’s sixth location will move into the North Village strip mall, sitting next to Offset Coffee. Owner Zak Fishman tells What Now LA he expects to open the newest location in January 2023. The New York-style pizza restaurant can currently be found in Fairfax, Little Tokyo, Burbank, West Los Angeles, and, most recently, Santa Monica. Fishman says this is the only location in the works at the moment. Prime Pizza is also co-owned by James Starr.

Prime Pizza has a straightforward yet delicious menu consisting of round pizzas and square pizzas (the latter available gluten-free), both available as a whole or by the slice. The restaurant also has a handful of sides, mainly consisting of salads, garlic knots, wings, and a cookie. As for the pizzas, the restaurant offers plenty of round pizza options from veggie to supreme. The squared pizza has four options: grandma (with mozzarella and grandma sauce), Sicilian, spicy pepperoni, and meat lovers. A recent liquor license application suggests the new Prime Pizza will also have some alcoholic options and non-alcoholic drinks.

“We make our dough in-house every day and let it rest overnight to develop the taste and structure it needs,” according to the company’s website. “We use Grande cheese from Wisconsin and shred it ourselves to get that perfect melt. Our sauce is made with local California tomatoes, salt, and oregano. No fillers. No Gimmicks. Just pizza.”
