Romanaccia, a casual Italian restaurant specializing in Roman-style pizza al taglio, is preparing to open in Hollywood at 1550 N Cahuenga Boulevard.
The restaurant is set to move into the former home of Frog Frozen Yogurt Bar, according to a recent liquor license application. Romanaccia is targeting a December 2025 opening, though the timeline is contingent on final city approvals. Customers can expect rectangular-cut Roman-style pizza with light fermented dough, imported ingredients, and a street-food-inspired service model. The restaurant will be open seven days a week and until 4 AM Thursday through Saturday.
Founded by Roman-born actor and entrepreneur Luca Tartaglia, Romanaccia was created to bring authentic Roman flavors to Los Angeles. After moving to Hollywood, Tartaglia said he struggled to find pizza that matched the taste and texture of what he grew up with in Rome. The brand aims to reflect the energy of the Italian capital while offering a streamlined, casual dining experience focused on quality and authenticity.
Joining Tartaglia is co-founder Vittorio Iuè, a music and media producer who leads creative and cultural strategy. The kitchen will be led by Executive Pizza Chef Alessandro Scuderi, a well-known Roman-style pizzaiolo and international instructor with millions of social media followers. Culinary systems will be managed by Camillo Caddeo, a veteran chef and consultant with experience building scalable pizza operations and training programs.
The menu will highlight Roman-style pizza, known for its long fermentation process and light, crispy crust. Toppings will be seasonal and rooted in Italian tradition, with beer, wine, and classic Italian spritz options available. The space will offer counter service and minimal seating, in line with the brand’s Roman street-food influence.
“I missed my pizza,” Tartaglia tells What Now Los Angeles. “A lot of places claim Roman-style pizza, but nothing tasted authentic. I just wanted to bring something that reminded me of home.”
