Ruff House BBQ is reportedly opening up its first storefront in Ventura by March 2024, where Vallarta Taqueria used to be located.
The Texas-style barbeque spot has been Ventura Music Hall’s official in-house food vendor since March 2022, available on performance nights as well as most Sundays. Ruff House also offers catering and occasionally hosts pop ups.
Public records indicate that Ruff House will offer inside seating for about 35 people and will include a bar and an outdoor patio. The plans also lay out space for owner Jason Ruffinelli’s offset wood smoker and a new rotisserie smoker.
The “Cali meets Texas” menu offers a variety of smoked BBQ meats and sides, including house-made sausages, ribs, maple pork belly burnt ends, smash burgers, mac n cheese and macaroni salad.
Ruffinelli could not immediately be reached for comment.
