Good People plans on expanding its space in Sawtelle, both inside and out.
The owners of the coffee shop acquired the lease to the adjacent space, located at 11611 Santa Monica Boulevard. Formerly occupied by Le Saigon, this area will be the new home of the coffee roasting space, according to an email newsletter from Good People. When reached by What Now Los Angeles for comment Thursday, ownership would not provide additional details.
Along with relocating the coffee roasting space, Good People also plans on building a new patio about five times the size they have now. It will span approximately 60 feet by 30 feet, running along the east brick wall.
Despite these changes, GoodPeople will continue to partner with local chefs and kitchens for pop-ups.
Since Good People opened at 11609 Santa Monica Boulevard in 2018, the coffee roasting space has dealt with some major changes. Good People began doing public coffee tastings, called “Church of Slurp,” in January 2018 before beginning roasting in March 2019. As demand grew, the business moved into the Chef Demitasse roasting facility in September 2019 in Eagle Rock. Earlier this year the coffee shop underwent a complete reno.
