After a very successful run in Koreatown at 3450 W 6th St, # 107, Armen Gary Momjian has set their sites on Glendale, at 318 N Brand Blvd for Seaweed Sushi Bar that is set to open next month, with more on the way. Momjian plans to open at least three per year, the next one being on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, sometime next year.

Seaweed Sushi Bar is doing something a little different this time around, offering no typical dining setting and only bar seating. This second location will have a “full-blown kitchen,” along with a different menu helmed by a currently unnamed Michelin-Star chef. “I’m very excited to pair up with this chef,” Momjian told What Now Los Angeles (WNLA). “He’s the real deal. We’re pretty excited to have him on board. He’ll bring a different aspect to our brand.” The owner is expecting some changes to the menu. “He’ll cook some old school Japanese cuisine.”

According to Momjian, Glendale (where they live) is highly congested with people who love sushi. “High-end sushi was definitely needed in the area.” The place they’re moving into used to be a ramen bar, Sapporo Ramen and Shabu Shabu. “Glendale will definitely be happy.” On top of having Glendale and Studio City plans, Momjian is looking at branching outside of state lines by opening a Seaweed Sushi Bar in Las Vegas.
