Shake Shack Opening in Silver Lake by End of the Year

Shake Shack is opening a new location in Silver Lake, located at 3903 W Sunset Blvd.

The new fast-food restaurant will sit next to The Black Cat in the former home of California Sun. There is no exact opening date at this point, but the company expects to open the new location by the end of 2022, according to a representative. The store will have approximately 3,180 square feet of interior space and about 1,000 square feet of exterior space. This will be the 16th Shake Shack in Los Angeles County, with the next closest one being in Hollywood.

Shake Shack started in New York City as a hot dog cart in 2001. By 2004 founder Danny Meyer graduated from a cart to a food stand in Madison Square Park. It wasn’t until 2010 when Shake Shake was able to expand beyond the big apple and open a storefront in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood.

Now, CEO Randy Garutti has opened 229 Shake Shake locations throughout the United States and 121 internationally. The fast-casual restaurant chain recently partnered with South Korean food conglomerate SPC Group to open ten Shake Shacks in Malaysia in the next ten years, with the first store set to open in 2023.

Shake Shack takes pride in serving 100 percent all-natural Angus beef burgers. They also serve hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine, and more. This week the restaurant introduced its new buffalo chicken menu options, including a buffalo chicken burger, buffalo spiced fries, and a new buffalo sauce.
