Mid-Wilshire just became a little more elevated. LOQUI, a booming Mexican restaurant chain, is set to bring its refined approach to classic Mexican dishes to the area in the second quarter of 2026.

“It’s a good place to be,” LOQUI owner Ari Ampudia said. “The new location will sit in an underserved area for elevated Mexican food.”

Ampudia is already making headway towards opening its new location. According to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, LOQUI was issued a liquor license in September for its new location at 176 S La Brea Ave. Securing the new license comes on the heels of LOQUI announcing the opening of its fifth location in Studio City earlier this year.

The building for LOQUI’s sixth addition is the former home to the Bluestone Lane coffee shop. The beloved items that LOQUI is known for are intended to be a staple at this new location when it opens its doors next year.

“The same sort of concept, simple elevated street food,” Ampuida told What Now LA.

LOQUI’s five locations possess the same menu, as will the new La Brea location. The menu features tacos, bowls, beer, wine, and cocktails. The menu is a nod to Mexican flavor heritage, offering a taste of Mexican craft beers and made-in-house Aguafresca. Ampuida said the achiote chicken taco and spicy garlic shrimp taco remain a chain-wide favorite and will certainly be on the menu at the Mid-Wilshire location.

Although a firm opening date has yet to be announced, the LOQUI team shared that they’re excited to bring this upscale, south-of-the-border blooming chain to Mid Los Angeles early next year.
