Softies Burger, a popular pop-up burger concept, is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location at USC Village, located at 835 W Jefferson Blvd, Ste 1710.
The eatery is set to move into the former home of Stout Burgers & Beers, according to a recent liquor license application. Co-owner Sam Hong tells What Now Los Angeles the team, which includes co-owner Josh Kim, is planning a soft opening on July 6, with a grand opening to follow at the start of the fall semester in August 2025. The new Softies Burger will open near other popular dining spots like City Tacos, Insomnia Cookies, Cava, and more. This marks a major step for the business, following nearly two years of pop-ups across Los Angeles and Orange County.
In May 2022, Hong and Kim left their full-time tech jobs to pursue a shared dream: making great burgers for good people. What began with a couple of griddles at Thank You Coffee quickly evolved into Softies Burger—a laid-back, feel-good concept that has since served thousands across Orange County and Los Angeles. Known for their juicy burgers and humble approach, the duo isn’t chasing titles—just aiming to be the best version of themselves. Now the duo is getting ready to take the next step with the opening of the restaurant’s first brick-and-mortar.
