Sora Temaki Bar, a casual Japanese handroll concept, is proposed to open in West Los Angeles at 908 S. Barrington Ave.

The proposed location would take over the former home of Sor Tino Restaurant, according to planning documents submitted to the Los Angeles City Planning Department by owner Vincent Benoliel. There is no confirmed opening date. This expansion follows a similar move in Thousand Oaks, where Sora’s second location is planned to open within The Lakes at Thousand Oaks in Spring 2026, showing the brand’s interest in high-traffic, experience-driven locations outside its original rooftop site at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles.

Sora Temaki Bar is part of Savta Hospitality Group, a family-owned collection of restaurant concepts inspired by tradition, storytelling, and hospitality. In addition to Sora, the group operates Savta, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Michelina, an Italian restaurant, and more. Each concept emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients and approachable, casual dining experiences, reflecting the group’s focus on quality, consistency, and community-driven locations.

The Sora menu features handrolls, bowls, and Japanese-inspired small plates. Options include classic temaki like tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, as well as signature fusion creations. Appetizers and sides include miso soup, crispy rice, falafel, and roasted vegetables. Guests can also choose from Japanese teas, sake, wine, beer, and specialty cocktails served on tap or by the bottle.

Barrington Avenue will be an excellent fit for a new location, offering central visibility and serving as a testing ground for future growth in Southern California. The proposal reflects the brand’s strategy to expand while maintaining the open-air, interactive dining experience that defines Sora.
