Starbread Bakery, the Northern California bakery that has slowly expanded into Southern California, is opening a new location in Cerritos, located at 17216 Norwalk Blvd.

The new 900-square-foot location, the company’s fourth in Southern California, will replace T Palm Jewelers later this year. Starbread Bakery started the year by opening new locations in Carson, Riverside, and most recently, San Diego. Now, the bakery that has served the delicious señorita bread since 1986 under Romy and Nelly Maranan is getting ready to open its second Los Angeles location at an unknown time. Based on the timeline of the other recently opened locations, the new site will open sometime in late summer or Fall 2022.

This is a massive accomplishment for the founders, who started baking this addictive bread from Vallejo while raising five kids. Decades later, the children have grown up to want to share the family secret. As the family business has continued to grow throughout the Bay Area and Pacifica, and eventually the rest of California, they have proven the pastries were too warm and sweet to be confined to one area of the bay.

When the new bakery finally opens between Dental Care and Goldilocks, it will feature its famous senorita bread and Instagram-worth doughnuts. The bakery will also offer other delicious pastries occasionally, such as cornbread and cupcakes. Hopefully, when the new Starbread Bakery opens, it won’t have to experience a purchase limit on its senorita bread, like the company was forced to do at its recently opened San Diego location.
