Avenue 26 Tacos, known for its popular street vending operation, now has a brick-and-mortar in DTLA, Eater LA Wednesday first reported.

Situated at 816 W 8th St., the permanent Avenue 26 was supposed to open in 2018, according to the restaurant’s website. It’s unclear what caused the two-year delay, but an Instagram post from Avenue 26 over the weekend shows the new eatery in full swing—less indoor dining which is not currently allowed in California amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

“We are now at the corner of Figueroa and ocho, Figueroa and 8th.,” according to the social media post. “Come get your tacos. Avenue 26, yes! Bomb tacos. Bomb tacos.”

In addition to its shiny-new DTLA storefront, near the corner of Figueroa and 8th where a new highrise is taking shape, Avenue 26 can be found in Lincoln Heights and Eagle Rock, on the street.
