Teddy’s Tacos will soon serve its delicious, handmade tacos in Culver City. This newest addition will mark the third location from the beloved, family-owned taco chain with stands in the City of Industry and Pasadena.
Business was slow at first when the sister-brother duo, Adriana and Teddy Castro, opened up the original Teddy’s Tacos in the City of Industry. What had been the missing ingredient? The matriarch, of course. Elena Castro stepped behind the stand and worked her magic into the masa. Since then, locals have frequented Teddy’s Tacos to appease their insatiable appetite for their flavor-packed plates.
The taco selection at Teddy’s Tacos is off the charts and covers every possible craving, from their Mahi Mahi tacos (grilled Mahi fish, purple cabbage, chipotle aioli, and mango pico de gallo) and potato tacos (cabbage, red sauce, pickled onions, Mexican cheese and sour cream) to their house and street tacos with your choice of asada, al pastor, chicken, carnitas, barbacoa, tinga or chorizo. Teddy’s specialty tacos include the Tacochino (grilled cheese on tortilla, asian slaw, carne asada, pico de gallo, and a fresh slice of avocado); the Alambre (carne asada with grilled bell peppers and bacon); and the classic Shrimp Taco (grilled shrimp, cabbage, pico de gallo and Mexican tartar sauce).
Additional savory plates include Adriana’s Nachos and the Red Mulita (tijuana style made with tortillas dipped in a barbacoa red sauce, barbacoa meat, grilled cheese onion and cilantro and a side of guacamole). And of course, the experience would not be complete without an ice cold agua fresca, which comes in watermelon, pineapple, cucumber lime, and homemade horchata.
Teddy’s Tacos will settle into 10601 Washington Boulevard, sandwiched between LemonShark Poké and Starbucks. Although an official opening day has not been revealed, Teddy’s Tacos’ Instagram assures us that the Culver City location will be “coming soon.”
Sounds tasty. But what $ are we talking about?
