Tesla’s Futuristic Diner Debuts in West Hollywood
The futuristic, neon-lit style was designed by Stantec and leans towards the early offers and concepts by Tesla. Blending roadside nostalgia with a sci-fi twist, the diner has quickly become a popular stop for both locals and tourists.
Tesla says the site includes 80 EV Supercharger stalls, making it the largest urban Supercharger hub in the world. It also has a two-storey restaurant that provides 24/7 service and rooftop dining. Upstairs, an Optimus robot serves popcorn to guests, adding to the diner’s futuristic vibe.
Two oversized LED drive-in screens line the edge of the parking lot, offering guests a movie experience while they dine. Takeout orders come packaged in Cybertruck-shaped boxes.
“If our retro-futuristic diner turns out well, which I think it will, Tesla will establish these in major cities around the world, as well as at Supercharger sites on long-distance routes. An island of good food, good vibes & entertainment, all while Supercharging!,” Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said on Twitter.
Futuristic American Diner
The menu at Tesla Diner puts a modern spin on American comfort food favorites. Some staples include breakfast tacos, crinkle fries, nitro iced matcha milkshakes, wagyu beef chili, and chicken-and-waffles sandwiches.
Other highlights include tallow-fried french fries ($4), hot dogs ($13), and thick-cut bacon ($12). Tesla drivers can place orders directly from their vehicle’s touchscreen and sync movies to their in-car audio systems.
Guests have praised the use of locally sourced ingredients, which bring a fresh, California-inspired twist to the high-tech setting. With glowing neon, a robot server, and drive-in movies, the diner delivers a one-of-a-kind blend of technology, nostalgia, and sustainability.
