DTLA later this year will be home to SoCal’s second outpost of The Black Bean.

Co-Owners Michelle Wolf and Garrett Greer are plopping down the vegan restaurant in space formerly housing OMSB, at 580 S Alameda St. #A.

An opening is likely in May 2020 and The Black Bean is currently in the hiring process, seeking “line cooks, fry cooks, platers, cashiers, expediters, supervisors, etc.,” for the new location.

Restaurants are typically in the home stretch when hiring gets underway.

“With one location in orange county, The Black Bean is excited to expand to Los Angeles,” a hiring advert states.

The Black Bean in 2018 debuted in Fountain Valley to great acclaim for its all-vegan milkshakes and burgers, and everything in-between.

Wolf and Greer on Thursday did not immediately respond to a request for comment by What Now Los Angeles and employees of the original Orange County restaurant did not have information on the planned Arts District outpost.
