The Butchery Quality Meats, one of Southern California’s best butcher shops, is getting ready to open a new location in Manhattan Beach at 1121 Artesia Blvd.

The company’s fourth location is expected to open in the former home of Lindberg Nutrition, according to a recent liquor license application. It’s unclear when this new site will open, but when it does, it will offer a wide variety of high-quality meats, artisan cheeses, craft beer and wine, and gourmet grocery items. The Butchery Quality Meats, owned and operated by Brian Smith and Robert Hagopian, also has locations in Costa Mesa, Newport Coast, and Del Mar.

This is a massive accomplishment for the owners, who started the meat shop in Costa Mesa in 2009. The company takes pride in sourcing the highest-quality meats and ingredients from the West’s finest farms, ranches, and purveyors. Each location includes grocery items built around our meats and cheeses, such as spices and accompaniments, honey chutney, and whatever you need to round out recipes.

“We have a passion for cooking, — that’s how we got here,” according to the company’s website. “High-quality ingredients are essential to creating a great meal, and we simply struggled to find quality meats here in Orange County. The butcher shop we knew growing up had become a cooler in the back of a big box grocery store filled with mass-produced meat packaged in styrofoam trays.”
