The California Yacht Club, a historic boating organization, is preparing to develop a new Sea-to-Table restaurant at the former Tony P’s Dockside Grill location in Marina del Rey at 4445 Admiralty Way.

The site became available after Tony P’s Dockside Grill closed in July 2025 when its owners retired. The club, owned by Crescendo Pacific, which is comprised of Jeff Weiss and Colin Shephard, secured a license agreement with the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors to operate on the property while it works toward a permanent restaurant and clubhouse project. While an official opening date has not been announced, the location will serve as a temporary clubhouse during the design and planning phases.

California Yacht Club’s original clubhouse, a two-story structure dating to 1967, was severely damaged in a December 2023 fire that destroyed the building and many trophies and memorabilia. Docks, boats, outdoor sport courts, and storage areas were unharmed. After the fire, the club established temporary operations on its six-acre grounds, including tents, a pavilion-style facility, and outdoor event spaces. Sailing regattas, junior sailing classes, and other activities continued on unaffected marina docks.

Founded in 1922 by yachting enthusiasts associated with the Los Angeles Athletic Club, the California Yacht Club relocated to Marina del Rey in 1965 and officially dedicated its Marina del Rey clubhouse on June 10, 1967. Nearby yacht clubs and members donated temporary facilities and historical items to help restore the club’s archives. The license agreement ensures that the site remains active while the California Yacht Club plans its permanent Sea-to-Table restaurant.

The future restaurant concept is in early design stages and aims to highlight fresh, locally sourced seafood and maritime traditions. The project will depend on a finalized lease amendment with the county before any construction or permitting begins.

Weiss tells What Now Los Angeles, “We are in the early planning stages for a future restaurant and will share details when the project is finalized.”
