The Melt, a fast-casual eatery known for its gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers, is set to open two new locations in Los Angeles, including sites in Long Beach and Hollywood Park.
The restaurant will open a new location in the Bixby Village Plaza, according to details from Westar Associates. The 2,200 square-foot eatery will be joined by California Fish Grill, Urbane Cafe, and Luna Grill, all of which are under construction and expected to open later this year. Customers can expect a fast-casual dining experience featuring grilled cheese sandwiches, MeltBurgers crafted with Angus and Wagyu beef, and sides such as fries and milkshakes. The restaurant typically offers both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as extended hours, often staying open late.
The Melt is also working on another location at Hollywood Park, the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States, according to a press release. This location will be opening within the retail district of Shops at Hollywood Park, along with Raising Cane’s, Panini Kabob Grill, Lan Noodle, and Rhythm Bar and Lounge, collectively representing over 13,000 square feet of new leases at the project. There’s no exact opening date for these new tenants.
“Restaurants, cafés, and nightlife spots activate retail and entertainment destinations while serving the surrounding community,” retail leasing agent Ed Sachse, President of KWP Real Estate, formerly Kennedy Wilson Brokerage, said in a press release. “This new group of food and beverage tenants at Hollywood Park represents the thoughtful curation of complementary concepts with much more to come.”
In addition, it was recently announced that Hollywood Park Studios (HPS) will be developed on-site and will initially serve as the host site of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28), which will house hundreds of media rights holders from around the world who have acquired the exclusive rights to distribute the coverage of the Games.
More events are on the horizon with the Film Festival at Hollywood Park, Los Angeles’ newest premier film event, taking place at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas from October 21-25. It brings a world-class film festival to the 300-acre campus for the first time. In addition to the five-day event, the organizers – the same team behind the Silver Lake Film Festival (2000-2008) and the DTLA Film Festival (2008-2023) – plan to hold movie screenings at Cinépolis, set to launch soon.
