Jennifer and Michael Towles, who own Corky’s Kitchen and Bakery, are opening up an establishment doing business as Sunset Cafe on 7445 West Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. They requested a liquor license for the space which currently houses Moun Of Tunis Restaurant. No timeline has been given, as the opening will follow a substantial amount of work.

Sunset Cafe operating at this location will coincide with the demolition of the current 22,800 square feet of five-multiple-story commercial buildings and the construction of one four-story 22,260 square foot shopping center, complete with a basement and 92 parking spaces. Sunset Cafe will occupy a space of 3,199 square feet upon completion of this project — that’s broken down to 2,468 square feet of interior space with 128 seats and 731 square-feet uncovered outdoor patio space with 71 seats.

The Towles have operated Corky’s Kitchen and Bakery for a little over 20 years now, with the first location opening up in 1999. Currently, 12 locations of Towles’ 24-hour homestyle restaurant are in operation.
