Chef Jason Neroni of The Rose Venice will bring his highly anticipated Culver City pizza joint, Best Bet, to 12565 Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066

The space was once home to Roy Choi’s now-defunct A-Frame restaurant which shuttered its doors after nine years in 2019.

Neroni announced Best Bet’s existence the same year with plans to flip the space by 2020 but was met by the unexpected force of a little-known pandemic.

Now, it seems the restaurant that serves pizza — not a  “pizza place,” according to Neroni — will open its doors in March of 2023.

Of the offerings, Neroni says, “We’ve been working on [the menu] for three-and-a-half years. I have a deep love for pizza and I really wanted to do something I truly loved and believed in.”

Best Bet will serve 10- and 20-inch pies — “the smaller ones wood-fired and the larger ones more New York-style.”

Neroni will also offer diners Sicilian/focaccia-style square pizza; fried Montanara-style pizza; Japanese charcoal-grilled meats; rotisserie-cooked lamb shoulder and short ribs; and three to four new pasta dishes.

Additionally, because the former A-Frame space once operated as an IHOP, Neroni is keen to offer a weekend brunch stacked with pancakes.
