A representative for Hive Hospitality has confirmed they are opening two concepts in Los Angeles. The Washington D.C. based restaurant group is taking over the old Bazaar and Somni spaces at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills with the two-Michelin-starred Jônt and a yet-to-be-named dinner spot.
Per Eater LA, the West Coast Jônt aims to open next summer and will serve a similar 20-plus course tasting menu as their original location, with California-sourced fresh produce and Japanese seafood. While some dishes may carry over, the new location will have its own unique experience separate from the D.C. outlet with a welcome area that will serve cocktails, a main dining room, a dessert parlor and a patio.
As for the unnamed concept, this 50-seat à la carte dinner restaurant plans to open in spring 2024 and will feature larger shareable dishes such as roasted stuffed chickens and turbot farci vin jaune inside of a “country farmhouse ambience.” While the name remains a mystery, Hive Hospitality’s website lists both Ômo by Jônt and MAASS as coming soon – could one of these be the secret eatery?
Hive Hospitality is Executive Chef Ryan Ratino’s rapidly growing restaurant group, and also includes the Michelin-starred Bresca as part of its umbrella of brands.
