A brand new restaurant called Tomat Kitchen is making its debut in Westchester, located at 6261 W. 87th St.
Not much information is available about this new restaurant, which was first reported by Toddrickallen. What is known is that this new restaurant will be owned and operated by Natalie Dial and Harry Posner and is expected to open in late 2022, according to an Instagram post revealing the restaurant’s logo, drawn by Mercedes Tabish in 2019. A recent liquor license application also suggests Tomat Kitchen will offer some alcohol. The new restaurant will likely feature healthy alternative foods with plenty of fresh ingredients.
When Tomat Kitchen finally opens later this year, it will be right down the street from the Westchester Farmer’s Market. The new restaurant will add even more variety to the area already consumed with various eating options, including The Ramen Joint, Westchester Bakery, and Skinny Dave’s right around the corner. Down the street, the duo of owners will also be launching a soon-to-be-featured urban garden called the Kids’ Lot.
“Two blocks south of Tomat, we’ve been remediating a disused car park into a fully functioning garden,” according to an Instagram post from the restaurant. “Sophie Pennes of Urban Farms LA, a grandmaster in urban gardens and native CA flora, has been an indispensable partner on this project. The garden will be largely educational and experimental—featuring beehives, ponds and fountains, a compost operation for Tomat, and several Hugelkultur.”
