A recent filing for a liquor license at 600-604 Venice Boulevard suggests that restaurateur William (Bill) Chait will soon introduce a new bar and restaurant concept in Venice.

While mystery shrouds Tres Tigres, foodies can trust in the name Chait. The restaurateur has been in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years and is responsible for the development and opening of several of Los Angeles’ most exciting restaurants, including Bestia, Petty CashRepublique, Otium, and Tessa. Patrons can expect exquisite cuisine in an aesthetically stunning space that takes full advantage of the structure’s existing vast windows and expansive outdoor patio.

Tres Tigres will settle into the 2,030-square-foot vacancy that had formerly housed the swanky brunch and dinner spot Zinqué. The 8,000-square-foot lot offers 13 parking spaces and constant foot traffic at the intersection of Venice and Abbott Kinney, an area bustling with popular restaurants, bars, and cafes including Alfred Coffee and Lemonade just across the street.

Chait was unavailable for comment at the time of this publication and an official opening date has yet to be revealed. However, we will be on the tigers’ scent and let you know when Tres Tigres will invite patrons into its lair.
