Truly Pizza, a Dana Point-based pizzeria renowned for its artisan-crafted pizzas and community-focused approach, is set to open in Venice at 1239 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
The company’s third location is set to move into the former home of Greenleaf Kitchen & Cocktails, according to an official press release. Although an exact opening date has not been announced, the new restaurant will feature seating for approximately 130 guests across both indoor and outdoor areas. Customers can expect the same menu format found at the original Dana Point location, including handcrafted pizzas, starters, salads, house-made desserts, and a selection of wine and beverages.
The Venice restaurant will feature the brand’s familiar garden-inspired design elements and layout, reflecting its focus on creating warm, comfortable gathering spaces. The culinary program, led by the original team, will maintain consistency with the existing menu and service style. The ownership group includes hospitality veteran Donna Baldwin, third-generation pizzaiolo John Arena, World Pizza Champion Chris Decker, and real estate developer Steve Muller.
“Venice is an iconic neighborhood with a vibrant, artistic spirit that aligns perfectly with the heart and soul of Truly Pizza,” Donna Baldwin said in the press release. We can’t wait to bring our signature hospitality and chef-driven menu to such a dynamic community.”
Truly Pizza launched in Dana Point in 2023 and has since become a popular destination for Southern California diners. The brand is also preparing to open its second location in Laguna Beach early next year. The company’s expansion to the Westside aligns with its ongoing growth plans and its interest in neighborhoods with strong community engagement and steady foot traffic.
Guests visiting the new Venice location will find a menu centered on whole pies, seasonal specials, and house-baked items. Signature pizzas include the Champion Tomato & Cheese, The Harvest, and Sweet Cheeks. The menu also features Garlic Pull-Apart Bread, Classic Chicken Wings, sandwiches, salads, soft serve ice cream, and Orange Creamsicles. The beverage list will offer California wines, craft beers, and specialty soft drinks.
“Growing our family means bringing our passion for great pizza to new neighborhoods, and the Westside felt like the perfect fit,” John Arena said in the press release. “We are excited to become part of this community and to serve our artisan pizzas to both locals and visitors who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and the joy of gathering around great food.”
