Ubuntu Café is very close to opening in Long Beach.

Reps for the farm-to-table neighborhood cafe tell What Now Los Angeles that a debut before the end of January 2020 is the target.

An exact opening date has not yet been set.

Ubuntu Café replaces the short-lived Greenbelt Coffee + Kitchen, at 335 Nieto Avenue, on the Colorado Lagoon.

Ubuntu, South African for “a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity,” will serve California eats with “global influences.”

The restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
