Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, a premium ice cream brand known for its French-style ice cream crafted with high-quality, simple ingredients, is set to arrive soon in Westwood Village at 10878 Kinross Ave.
The company’s newest location is set to move into the former homes of Pressed Juicery and Häagen-Dazs, signaling the arrival of the rapidly expanding ice cream brand, first reported by ToddRickAllen. Founded in 2008 as a New York City food truck, Van Leeuwen has evolved into a nationally recognized company renowned for its French-style ice cream, vegan options, and inventive flavors. The new Westwood shop will serve its full menu of artisanal ice creams, vegan ice creams, sundaes, shakes, and vegan chocolate chip cookies.
This will mark Van Leeuwen’s 13th location in California, as the brand continues to build its presence across the state. An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the company is actively expanding, with additional locations underway in Charlotte, Chicago, and other parts of the country. The Westwood Village shop will bring Van Leeuwen’s signature blend of nostalgic classics and creative, ingredient-forward treats to the UCLA-adjacent neighborhood, adding to a growing list of premium dessert spots in the area.
Van Leeuwen sets itself apart by using a French-style base that includes extra egg yolks, resulting in its dairy ice cream having a richer, creamier texture. It also offers a wide selection of plant-based options made with ingredients like oat milk, cashew milk, or coconut cream. Signature flavors range from classics like Vanilla Bean and Chocolate to unique offerings, including Honeycomb, Earl Grey Tea, and seasonal collaborations.
