Wat Da Crab, the Filipino comfort food restaurant served by the pound, is possibly opening a new location in Lomita, located at 2244 Pacific Coast Hwy. Ste. 107.
The restaurant recently opened in Carson, at 21616 South Figueroa St, earlier this year and was only opened on the weekends. Now, the restaurant gets ready to possibly expand or move to Lomita in a 2,250 square-foot space for five years, according to a recent leasing report. Although little information is available at this point, customers can expect this new location to open sometime in the Summer of 2022, considering their lease starts in June.
The original Wat Da Crab is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm to 10 pm. While their hours are minimal, their menu offers plenty of variety. To start, customers select what kind of meat they want by the pound, including snow crab, crawfish, and lobster tail. From there, customers can customize their orders with cause, spice level, add ons, and fried toppings. The restaurant also offers specialty items such as seafood alfredo pasta, crispy pork belly, and goto (porridge with pork intestine) with tokwat baboy (fried tofu and pork).
If and when the restaurant does open, they will face some stiff competition with nearby Asian eateries such as Cavitena Filipino Restaurant, Tasty Noodle House, and Gen Korean BBQ House. While these other restaurants will prove the area has variety, none of them serve in the quantities that Wat Da Crab does.
