Zampo, a Peruvian-Japanese Nikkei restaurant, is preparing to open in Los Angeles at 1224 Beverwil Drive, inside the Cameo Hotel Beverly Hills.
The new concept will move into the former home of Il Moderno, which has closed as the hotel reimagines it as its new signature restaurant, according to the hotel’s website. Although an opening date has not been announced, Zampo’s debut is expected to be later this year. Guests can look forward to a dining experience that blends Peruvian flavors with Japanese precision, offering a creative, craft-driven menu in a sophisticated Beverly Hills setting.
The new concept draws inspiration from Peruvian culinary traditions and Nikkei artistry, presenting dishes that merge heritage and innovation. Each plate is designed to highlight the harmony of fire and finesse, earth and ocean, turning meals into a cultural experience. The restaurant functions as a collaborative kitchen where chefs and artisans craft each dish with attention to both technique and storytelling.
Located within the Cameo Hotel Beverly Hills, Zampo benefits from the hotel’s central location between Beverlywood and Beverly Hills, just a mile from Rodeo Drive and three miles from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The hotel’s elegant design, including hardwood floors, leather furnishings, and private balconies with city views, complements Zampo’s refined dining atmosphere.
Guests can expect a variety of dining experiences, from intimate plated meals to full-service in-room dining and a lounge setting ideal for cocktails or light bites. Zampo aims to provide a balance between casual enjoyment and elevated dining, in keeping with the hotel’s philosophy of blending tradition and contemporary flair.
The restaurant’s name, inspired by the Peruvian woodwind instrument Zampona, reflects its cultural roots and creative focus. Zampo will serve as the Cameo Hotel’s new culinary centerpiece, creating a space where flavors, stories, and culture intersect.
